About the role
Source fresh produce from growers, shippers, and brokers across the country. Build the buy that keeps our customers stocked with the quality they expect — at the right price.
What you'll do
- Place daily purchase orders to maintain target inventory levels by commodity.
- Build and maintain relationships with growers, shippers, brokers, and trucking partners.
- Read the market — pricing, weather, growing regions, demand signals — and adjust the buy.
- Work with sales and inside sales on commodity reports, ads, and customer needs.
- Manage shrink, quality, and on-time arrivals.
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of produce buying, sales, or category-management experience.
- Strong understanding of growing regions, seasonality, and commodity grades.
- Comfort with high-volume phone work and tight market windows.
- Solid Excel and ERP / order-entry system skills.
- Negotiator who can build long-term partnerships, not just transactions.
